A Blessing from a Fallen Tree,
February 1, 2024
I am sitting on one of my favorite trees in a neighborhood trail close to my home.
I can remember two small stumps coming out of the main trunk where I used to stand and put my hands, my head, my heart against the big trunk and cry for whatever was hurting me.
And then I would feel the strength of this beautiful tree and its healing power.
And now this tree is fallen and I am crying for it and giving it strength in return for all the strength that it has given me.
I sit here now on its trunk to receive a blessing from a fallen tree.
I call you, my dear and beautiful fallen tree, to speak a blessing from all of the fallen trees for all of us.
Reminding us that falling down is part of getting back up.
That we are a forest, and we have parts of us that fall down and yet we are still whole.
We are an entire forest.
It is the first time one of my favorite trees has fallen.
It has stopped me in my tracks.
I sit here in this moment to cry and feel deep, gratitude, blessings, trust, healing, and knowing that all is still well.
Even as our trees fall, they are a part of the forest in the new shape they take on as a fallen tree.
I think perhaps first it is my blessing to my fallen tree.
I sit upon your trunk, now horizontal, a seat to sit, a branch for my feet surrounded by more trees, still standing tall.
I sit with you, upon you, with you in my heart and my tears rolling down my cheeks to receive a new kind of blessing from you as a fallen tree.
I heal my heart that has broken at times.
I remember the times that I have fallen down and how I have gotten back up and how the falling is part of the rising.
May you be blessed my beautiful tree to know that now as you are you are still my gift, my strength, my healing.
You are still a beauty and a wonder.
You are still deeply loved.
And so it is for all of us, for all of you.
When you fall, when your heart breaks, when the ground gives out beneath you, you are beautiful and loved and you will rise again.
And so it is
Now I open to receive:
A Blessing from a Fallen Tree
Beauty of a being beyond.
Being beyond having to be one way.
You are now sitting on my trunk and reveling in the beauty around you.
I am still supporting you as much now, as I did when I stood tall.
I do not have to always have the same shape.
Falling does not necessarily mean that all is lost.
It simply means that all is new.
It is a new direction.
A new perspective.
A new way of giving and growing and becoming.
Each fallen tree is still a whole and beautiful part of its forest.
We give our roots, our branches, our trunk into the rebirth and growth of the soil of new plants and food and blessings.
And now we give to you sweet human who sits on my horizontal trunk, making messages for humans, feeling tears and love and joy.
I lay upon the ground reveling in a whole new perspective.
Remember, dear humans to look at things from many angles.
And know you are whole and beautiful when you are fallen.
When you are flying.
When you are becoming new.
This is my blessing.
Know that you are always a blessing, and always beautiful and always becoming new.
This is the blessing of a fallen tree.
We are all cherished and growing.
In every moment you are loved, you are beautiful, you are cherished, you are whole and good and wondrous.
Look up from wherever you are and see the new is always becoming alive again within you, around you and for you.
Remember the blessings of a fallen tree so that you may rise and shine and fly and know that you are always beautiful.
